Commonwealth Parliamentarians from Grenada to address global issues and examine
parliamentary democracy at 67
th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference in New South Wales.
Members of Parliament from Grenada are currently attending one of the largest annual gatherings of
Commonwealth Parliamentarians that will take place next week at the 67
th Commonwealth Parliamentary
Conference (67th CPC) hosted by the Parliament of New South Wales and the CPA New South Wales Branch.

The flagship event will bring together over 700 Parliamentarians, parliamentary staff and decision makers from
across the Commonwealth for this unique conference. The CPC offers the prospect of the coming together of
the CPA’s global membership to address the critical issues facing today’s Parliaments.
The 67th CPC will be attended by Speakers, Presiding Officers and Members of Parliament from across the
membership of the Commonwealth Parliamentary Association (CPA).

The CPA is the only parliamentary
association to bring together national, state, provincial and territorial Legislatures and the CPA’s membership
includes almost 180 Parliaments and Legislatures across the Commonwealth.
The Head of the CPA Grenada Branch’s delegation, is the Honourable Leo Cato Speaker of the House of
Representatives. Mr. Cato said “We are delighted to be able to attend the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary
Conference (CPC) and CPA General Assembly to represent the Parliament of Grenada The CPA’s annual
conference offers the opportunity for Members to benefit from professional development, supportive learning
and the sharing of best practice with colleagues from Commonwealth Parliaments together with the
participation of leading international organisations.”
Honourable Dessima Williams the President of the Senate and Mr. Andrew Augustine, the Clerk of the Houses
of Parliament are the other members of the delegation
The main conference theme for the 67th CPC is: ‘Engage, Empower, Sustain: Charting the Course for Resilient
Democracy’.

The conference will explore a wide range of workshop topics from the use of Artificial Intelligence
and technology; the security of MPs; ending human trafficking; combatting discrimination legislation.
During the 67th Commonwealth Parliamentary Conference, there will also be a number of additional conferences
and meetings including: 40th CPA Small Branches Conference;

8th Commonwealth Women Parliamentarians
(CWP) Conference; meetings of the Commonwealth Parliamentarians with Disabilities (CPwD) network; the
CPA General Assembly and meetings of the CPA Executive Committee; and the 58th Society of Clerks at the
Table (SOCATT) meetings.
This year, delegates at the Conference will also elect the Chairperson of the CPA Executive Committee and the
CPA Small Branches Chairperson.
